"Yes...i'm sorry I didn't tell you...I was in the woods and he got me," Eagleflight meowed.

"Got you?"

"Found me and forced me to breed with him."

"Who?"

"He was a rouge, he said his name was Alley. He was black and white with a scarred eye."

I growled. "I can get the medicine cat to abort the children. Alley will be sure to come back to take the kits."
"How do you know?"
"Because he's done this before."

Eagleflight shook her head. "No, I can't. I won't kill them."

I nodded. "It would be painless, where as when Alley takes them they will be starved, and then eaten."

"I won't let him. I've killed many toms in my lifetime but...aborting unborn kits...I just can't."

I looked at her, alarmed. "You can't try and fight him. He's an old cat, but he's got the best fighting skills I've ever seen."

"I know. He gave me my scars when I was little, but I escaped him. And I won't let him have my children."

I shuddered as those horrifying memories drifted in. My right paw twitched. Then my left. Then my back left, and then back right.

Eagleflight looked down at her growing stomach. It was a bit clearer now, her stomach was a bit round.

I shook my head. "Alley will kill you, and wreck havoc on the camp."

"I won't let him do that."

"You won't have a choice."

"He can't kill me, I'm too strong for that. I killed his brother, you know."

My eyes hardened. "Alley will kill you. I don't think I can handle that."

"I won't kill my kits, though."

"Will you let him take them?"

"I don't know." Eagleflight curled up and cried into her paws.

I lay down beside her, whispering comforting words.

Eagleflight was still crying.

"Eagleflight." I whispered. "These kits will turn out to be like Alley. All my brothers and sisters did."

"Not if I raise them."
