Cages, Becoming the Caged

[six months...when Jay comes back. or should be alive. according to matthew. the soulbender.]
Matthew smiled and lied down.

(Ohh..okay.)

Alyssa huddled up once again, closing her eyes to get some sleep.

(You skip?)

[sure] I was curled up in my cage, trying to forget the events six months ago.

Alyssa looked over at Liz.

I looked at Alyssa, then sighed and looked down at my softly rounding stomach.

Alyssa bit her lip. Would Jonathan come back, as Matthew had said? Did Liz know? The questions filled her head.

Matthew was sitting at the front of his cage, humming "Gravedigger" while watching the door.

(What is up with 'Gravedigger??')

"Matthew?" Alyssa whispered.

[Obsessed with that song. IT OWNS]
"Hmm?" He turned to her.

(Never heard it.)

"Is he gonna come back?"

"He should."

"He better." She glanced at Liz.

I curled up farther. 'No looking, no looking...'
A cold burst of wind hissed through the cages.

Alyssa shivered. "What was that?" She hissed.

"That would probably be him."

"What?"

[ENTERANCE PLEASE *cough cough*]
"Him, it's him!!"

"Jonathan?" She gasped.
Jonathan came striding through the doors.

"Jay!" I pressed myself against the cage. "Jay, how.."

He unlocked the cage. "Don't ask. Now let's go."

I nodded but looked at the others. "Hit the fire alarm, Jay. It'll let them go."

(Who's 'I?')

Jonathan shook his head and gestured them all out the door.
Alyssa hurried.
Darian followed her.

[Liz]
I looked back once and fled.

Jonathan hurried them all through the doors. "Let's go, Matthew."

Matthew nodded. He looked back. Ty was curled up in his cage, arms over his head. "I can't go. My cage makes me feel safe."
"Ty," Matthew snapped. "One day they're going to take you away, and you'll never come back."
Ty stayed silent for a minute, then got up and ran out. Matthew followed.
