The Healing Cat

Tobias dreamed of a she-cat he had met once before.

She decided to sift through his dream, seeing what he saw.

Tobias dreamed about the she-cat and her two tiny kittens, they were both blind. He dreamed of her sparkling eyes and gray speckled pelt.

Seralee recoiled from his dream in shock, but drew herself back in, unnoticeable.

Tobias knew that she had a power, she was a Πολεμιστής (Warrior) and she needed to be found.

Seralee's heart clenched. Was he in love with another cat? Was all that he said lies? All that she knew was that he did not dream of her. Of how much he missed her. He dreamed of another cat. She left his dreams, and floated away.

Tobias opened his eyes and got shakily to his paws. He looked around at last, and then fled, his paws kicking up dirt. The night before, he had buried Seralee in a shallow grave, so she could still feel the rain.

Seralee wondered if she should return to the spirit world.

Tobias felt his paws carring him like the wind. 'Barry, Barry, Barry.' Soon he came to the old abandoned farmhouse he had left her at and trilled lightly for her.

She felt a presence near her grave and floated invisibly towards it.

Barry jumped from a broken window and padded up to Tobias. Her two kits sat in the window, listening as the two talked.

Seralee saw the other cat. Tears flew down her face.

Tobias told Barry something that made her nod. Barry jumped back into the window and left him there.

Seralee fled from the scene, visible.

Tobias watched her figure dart out from the corner of his eye, and he froze. She had been watching?

She made a quick decision to leave. She wiped the tears from her face with a tail swipe.

Barry came back, the two kits trailing behind her. Together, Tobias and Barry left.

Seralee floated upwards,almost flying. She saw Tobias and the she-cat.

"Where have you been all this time Tobias?" Barry asked him. "With my friend Seralee..." he trailed off, the hurt showing in his eyes.

Seralee heard the remark, and floated down. "That would be me. The one Tobias pledged his love to." She said, all the hurt and anger showing in her eyes.

Barry turned almost white. "Tobias.." "Yes, this is Seralee. The one I love.."

"But I know now that all he said was lies. He's a backstabbing fox."

"Seralee, I didn't lie..."

She gave him a hard look. "Oh yeah, and I'm not dead."

"Seralee, I did love you but...I have to move on."
